When Becka Thompson ran for a Ward 12 city council seat, she made racist comments about city councilmembers of color. Thankfully, she was overwhelmingly rejected by Ward 12 voters, but she’s continuing to be a local racist thought leader on social media.

Notice that Thompson is proactively endorsing the extremely racist local crime Twitter account.
What reinforces Becka Thompson’s racist behavior to me, is her choice to allow racists to reply to her tweet, and to choose ot not challenge their racism. And we’re not talking about subtle racism. She’s platforming some of the most racist racists in the Twin Cities below her tweet. Below is a slideshow of 37 replies to Becka Thompson’s tweet where people made racist/Islamophobic/violent comments with no response from Thompson.
The important thing to remember here is that Thompson reads her replies. She responded to multiple replies in the comments of this tweet. However, when her tweet inspires incredibly racist people to share their opinions with her, she platforms them with no push back.
Endorsing a racist twitter account is racist.
Providing a platform for racists is racist.
Not challenging racism is racist.
